sleeping chasing eating sleeping
Fred's patch is the top end of Camberwell Grove, south London. He's not shy and ever since he moved in as a kitten around a year ago he a got to know most people on the street. Asides from stretching out on garden walls and sunbathing, Fred likes to greet the commuters as they walk down the road. Most strangers like Fred and stroke him or scratch his chin but occasionally some people take an aversion. The other day a lady was sweeping her porch and Fred came to say hello. The lady obviously didn't like friendly ginger cats and she tried to shoe Fred away with the broom. Fred found this rather amusing and decided to play fight with the broom, grabbing it, clawing it and tugging it until the lady had to let go and run into her house. But Fred doesn't always get his way, yesterday he was attacked by a crow and he himself had to dart back through the window looking rather sheepish at this humiliation. But perhaps Fred’s most unusual characteristic is his insatiable curiosity. Fred visits peoples houses, climbing through windows, sneaking through doors or even scaling drainpipes. I live on the 4th floor and Fred is a regular visitor. The first time this happened it was a hot summers night and I had my window open. At two am I woke with a start to find a cat had pounced on the end of my bed. How he gets here I have no idea. I am sure Fred has many stories.
